New Zealand para– Khagrachari

New Zealand neighborhood!!! The name is a bit unfamiliar, isn't it. We have heard several times that there are villages called "Bangladesh" in several countries including Kashmir in India. After hearing these names, everyone should think that most of the citizens of that country live in this village or area.

Although it may sound strange, there is no reason behind the name of this New Zealand Para (Newzeland Para) next to Pankhaiya Para, 1.5 km south of Khagrachari in Bangladesh. Not only that, the New Zealand road is the road leading from Pankhaiya Para to Upper Perachra village.

The horizon on both sides of the road is a pair of green farms, this is the only flat land in Khagrachari. The vast green fields and distant hill ranges create an aesthetic beauty here. And this is why the place has attracted the attention of tourists separately. Mainly, New Zealand Para consists of Pankhaiya Para and some parts of Perachara. It is as if New Zealand has taken a piece of the Australian continent in the heart of Bengal.

According to word of mouth, many years ago a hill gentleman while walking through this area said that the wind is like New Zealand, hence the name of the area is New Zealand Para.

It is not a brick and stone city in the middle of the city. This area is an incomparable form of inexhaustible beautiful nature. Only green and green in sight. There are green paddy fields in some places, some areas are completely barren, some houses are in the distance, and there are rows of high mountains in the distance. Such a wonderful scene can be seen in New Zealand neighborhood. The late afternoon breeze will refresh you in no time.

In the nature here, the dark green mountains, the distant gurgling fountain, the blue sky above, the occasional white clouds, the glow of the red sun setting at twilight, all together have given birth to an unearthly beauty. Here you can enjoy a wonderful afternoon. The lush green surroundings will mesmerize you. The horizon of green fields, hills, blue sky and clouds will leave you with a touch of colorful magic.

The murky red waters of the Chengi River, which winds its way past Khagrachari town, blend together with the Karnaphuli River. Sometimes the varied lifestyles of the ethnic communities, sometimes the jum cultivation fields wrapped in a blanket of greenery - have brought a different dimension to the beauty here. Therefore, if you go to Khagrachari, you must visit the famous "New Zealand neighborhood" of Bengal.
