Tripura people believe that the god himself made this pond as a blessing to the local people. According to them, taking a bath in this pond will fulfill your desires. This pond is located on a hill at a height of 1000 feet, 12 km away from Khagrachari town. A pilgrimage fair is held here every year on Baisuk. Khagrachari-Mahalchari-Rangamati road is seven kilometers away from Maichhari. Four kilometers west of Maichhari is Nunchhari village. Devota Pukur (Devota Pukur) is reached at the top of the hill by a one kilometer hill path from this Nunchari village. The clear still water of this pond will calm the mind of the tourists. 

Apart from this natural scenery, you can visit Shantipur Forest Cottage of Panchari Upazila, Dighinala Forest Vihar, century old Yongd Buddhist Temple in the heart of Khagrachari town to know the culture of the tribals of this region, especially the Buddhist community. 

Located in Nunchari Mauza of Maischari area of Khagrachari district, the lake spread over an area of 5 acres at about 700 feet above the sea level is actually known as Devatar Pond. It is said that the water-god himself dug this pond to relieve the water shortage of the local residents. The water of the pond is considered by the local people to be blessed by the gods. Because the pond was created by the miracle of God, the water of the pond never dries up despite being located so high.

Just 05 km from Khagrachari district headquarters: Nunchari is a small river formed from the Alutila mountain range of Nunchari Mouja in Maischari area, located at the junction of Khagrachari-Mahalchari road in the south. A couple of kilometers walk from the bus on the main road. If you have your own transport, you can go straight to the foothills to the river. You may feel like a conqueror when you cross high mountains while walking. If you are tired, you can take a nap on the lap of the mountain. On the way, you will see huge rocks in the weak stream of Nunchari river. The still rocks in the clear water stream will enchant you. Your mind will be enchanted by the wonderful beauty of nature. Many photo-loving tourists take pictures here. Devta Pond on the hilltop at a height of 700 feet above sea level is a streamless stream of Salil Bari like the blessing of a fairy tale deity. There is no other reservoir of Bari stored at such a height anywhere else in Bangladesh. 

This god pond is filled to the brim with water during the monsoons and never dries up at any time of the year. The pond is surrounded by a wide range of mountains. Its position is about 1000 feet in the east-west direction. The size of the pond is about 1500 feet in length and about 600 feet in width.       

Where will you stay?

Hotel Masud is located in the main market of Khagrachari for overnight stay. There are rooms between 100 taka to 200 taka. There is Chowdhury Boarding at Adalat Road, Sampriti Hotel at Khagrachari Bazar and Shilpi Boarding at Court Road. Hotel Thrstar is located on Narayan Road. There are also tourist motels.       

How to go:

On the Khagrachari-Mahalchari-Rangamati road, 11 km south of the district headquarters, 4 km west of the main road, in Nunchari Mauza of Sadar Upazila, is the location of Chir Prashantimoya Devtar Pond.
