Ashtagram in Kishoreganj is a suitable place to visit during monsoon. Ashtagram is basically an isolated upazila surrounded by Howrah. Even in winter, to go here, you have to take the help of waterways. Ashtagram upazila is located about 60 km south-east of Kishoreganj jail city. 

A huge wetland surrounded by Panidwara is Ashgram Haor with several island-like villages. Here you will see some fishing boats and the villages located in Howrah. The village houses here look quite beautiful while traveling by boat in Howrah. 

It is located next to the famous Hakaluki and Tangua. This haor is spread over the whole of Itna, Mithamin and Ashtagram in Kishoreganj, Nikli, Tarail and some parts of Karimganj, Khaliajuri in Netrakona, Ajmiriganj in Habiganj and some areas in Sunamganj. Vast areas are submerged in water during monsoons and take the form of oceans. You can go from one howr to another without any hindrance during monsoons. 

Abundant milk is available in Astragram. The cheese here is also famous. A lot of time can pass by having tea and chatting. Now you can visit Qutub Shah Mosque. You can visit Qutub Shah Mosque by rickshaw. A very old mosque is Qutb Shah. It is believed that Qutb Shah, an elder, built the mosque in the late 16th or early 17th century. The craftsmanship of the five-domed mosque is remarkable. Even after all these years, the mosque is in fairly good condition. 

How to go:

The best is to go by train. Every day at 8.10 am Egarsindur Prabhati (closed on Wednesdays) departs for Kishoreganj. Get on it and get down to Kuliachar. Rent is 110 Tk. 

Besides, Gulistan Fulbaria can also be reached by BRTC bus to Kuliachar. Rent is 200 Tk. Those who want to go to Bhairav will go to Kuliarchar by CNG from Bhairav. The rent will be Rs 40 per person. 

Get down from Kuliachar and take a rickshaw to Launchghat. From here every morning at 6 am, 8 am, 9 am, 11 am and till 3 am the launch leaves Ashtagram. Rent is 100 rupees. It will take 3 and a half hours. 

You can come through Bajitpur when you come. You will get AC bus of BRTC all day. Rent is 180 Tk.
