Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park (Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park) is a 4909.0 acre forest land of Mauna Union of Sripur Upazila of Gazipur District known as a safe habitat for various species of animals.
Bangabandhu Safari Park or Gazipur Safari Park has been set up in line with the South Asian model especially the Safari World of Thailand. Also included are some ideas for Bali Safari Park in Indonesia.
Permanent enclosures are being constructed around the Safari Parks to allow breeding and free roaming of native/exotic wildlife so that tourists can enjoy educational, research and recreational opportunities by traveling in moving vehicles or on foot.
The concept of a safari park is different from a zoo. Animals are kept in captivity in zoos and visitors can visit them in the wild. But in safari parks, wildlife roams freely in the jungle, and people cautiously visit animals confined to moving vehicles.
Bangabandhu Safari Park or Gazipur Safari Park is divided into 5 parts. 1. Core Safari. 2. Safari Kingdom. 3. Biodiversity Park. 4. Extensive Asian Safari Park. 5. Bangabandhu Square.
Core Safari Park No tourist can enter the core safari park without a safari vehicle, but he can observe the wild animals roaming in the natural environment in a free environment in the wildlife enclosure.
The Core Safari Park will be established with an area of 1335 acres - including 20.0 acres of Tigers, 21.0 acres of Lions, 8.50 acres of Black Bears, 8.0 acres of African Cheetahs, 81.50 acres of Chitra Deer, 80.0 acres of Sambab and Goyal, Elephant in 105.0 acres, Hippopotamus in 35.0 acres, Maya and Para deer in 22.0 acres, Nilgai in 25.0 acres and Baro Singha in 114.0 acres.

Its main activities include Nature Viewing Centre, Giraffe Feeding Spot, Pelican Island, Boating and Lakezone; Crown Pheasant Aviary with Large Plantation, Dhanesh Aviary, Bird Aviary (Ardhatu) with Domestic and Exotic Birds including Parrot Aviary, Crocodile Park, Orchid House, Butterfly Corner, Vulture and Owl Corner, Egg World, Tortoise and Tortoise Breeding Centre, Lamchita House, Kangaroo Garden , Elephant-Show Gallery, Peacock/Macaw Open Land, Snake Park, Fancy Carp Garden, Fancy Dark Garden, Lizard Park, Food Court, Observation Tower and Reservoir etc.
The main objective of establishing this park is to preserve the gene pool of rare, endangered, rare and endangered species of trees. Apart from this, various species of trees will be planted in this park for conservation of forest and bio-diversity. The park will be set up as a replica of the National Botanical Gardens and Balda Gardens. The area of Biodiversity Park has been determined to be 965.0 acres.
Extensive safari park with all Asian herbivores and small carnivores, birds, reptiles and amphibians will be established in this park. Establishment of suitable pastures, forest plantations, reservoirs, camps and development of existing natural forests for wildlife habitat. The area of this park has been determined to be 824 acres.
Bangabandhu Square has been established with an area of 38 acres for parking area, amusement park and administrative works at the entrance of the park. There is a large parking area in front of the main gate. Interesting murals and models have been constructed here along with main gates, fountains, reservoirs and lakes.
Information Centre, Park Office, Dormitory, Restroom, Natural History Museum, Airavati Restroom, Mayuri Restroom, Eco-Resort, Display Map, RCC Benches and Umbrellas.
There are also two large observation restaurants, one named Tiger Restaurant and the other Lion Observation Restaurant. Sitting in these two restaurants, you can watch lions and tigers through the glass.
There are some rare species of wild animals that are never commonly seen in the Asian region. Among these are al paka, miniature horse, wallaby, crown crane, wandering duck etc.
Park entry ticket is Tk 50 per adult and Tk 20 entry fee for under 18 years old. Entrance fee for students coming on educational tour or general students is 10 taka.

If you go to Bagher Bazar from the intersection of Gazipur, you will see the huge signboard of Safari Park. Rickshaws and autorickshaws are available to go from the tiger market to the safari park gate. The rent will be 50 to 70 taka.
There are human haulers to go from Gazipur Chowrasta to Bagher Bazar. Fare value depends on holidays and normal days. 80 to 100 taka.
Besides, you can get down directly to Bagher Bazar by bus traveling from Dhaka to Mymensingh.
