Forests of Bhawal, kingdom of peace. The location of this wonderful tree kingdom is in Gazipur Sadar and Sreepur Upazila of Gazipur district, just 40 km north of the capital Dhaka. In the fertile land of red soil, the arena of trees had accumulated here thousands of years ago, maybe the sun of the civilization of the dusty city had not yet risen. 

The main tree of Bhawal forest is Ghajari, hence it is also called Ghajari Gard of Bhawal. Madhupur and Bhawal are among the few large natural forest areas in the country. Bhawal is not comparable to the average in tradition, beauty. Due to its attractive beauty and biodiversity, Bhawal is gradually becoming the center of choice for tourists. 

Therefore, to increase the interest of tourists and to protect its biodiversity, in 1973 Bangabandhu first declared Bhawal Gard as Bhawal National Park. After the announcement of the park, the government's attention towards it increased a lot. In 1974, according to the Bangladesh Wildlife Conservation Act (1974), this park spread over an area of five thousand 22 hectares was built as Bhawal National Park. 

All facilities and security are enhanced here for the tourists. In short, a beautiful picnic spot is built around the forest, as well as a state-of-the-art resort. This has resulted in an opportunity to experience forest trekking and wildlife viewing. 

Bhawal National Park is primarily a tropical deciduous forest. In this forest there is an abundance of turnips. The characteristic of Ghazari forest is that the leaves of this tree fall in winter and new leaves grow in summer. As such, the entire forest is now densely green during the monsoon season. This park is unique in terms of animal diversity. Bhawal National Park was once home to tigers, black leopards, leopards, clouded tigers, elephants, peacocks, mayan deer and sambar deer. 

With the passage of time, they are no longer so. However, Kheksial, Bagdas, Beji, Squirrel, Snake and some species of snakes are still seen. The park has an average of 64 species of animals, including six species of mammals, nine species of reptiles, 10 species of amphibians and 39 species of birds. 

The forest department has released pythons, peacocks, deer and tigers in this forest. Struk billed kingfisher or megh hoo, machranga, khoira gecho pecha, wood peacock, forest cock, chicken can be seen while walking in the forest. You will also see monkey and Hanuman. You can't help but be impressed by seeing so many animals together. Even for a moment, you will want to 'ish! If I could build a house with these birds, in this thick green, then maybe life would be truly meaningful.' 

This forest is also particularly discussed in terms of plant diversity. . There are 221 species of plants in this forest, including 24 species of vines, 27 species of grasses, three species of palm trees, 105 species of herbs, 19 species of shrubs, 43 species of trees. Sal is the main tree of the garden. This national park is rich in various plants. Notable among these are Shall, Bahera, Amalaki, Turmeric, Amra, Jiga, Vadi, Aswattha, Bot, Sarpagandha, Shatamuli, Zaina, Bidha, Hargoja, Behula etc. Apart from this, there are various types of vines in this forest. Among other trees, jackfruit, ajuli, kumbi, gandhi gajari etc. are notable. Eucalyptus and rubber forests have been artificially planted here. 

Bhawal National Park, located just 40 km north of Dhaka, is an attractive tourist center in Bangladesh. There are several picnic spots for tourists. The spots are Anand, Kanchan, Sonalu, Akasha, Leisure, Entertainment. For the comfort of the visitors there are nice and pleasant cottages named Bakul, Malanch, Madhavi, Chameli, Beli, Jui. There are 13 cottages and six resthouses. 

If you want to use the picnic spot or rest house, you have to book in advance from the Mohakhali office of the forest department. Due to its proximity to Dhaka and good communication system, about 1.5 million local and foreign tourists visit here every year. 

Bhawal National Park is a beautiful place for picnic or family group trip. This park is famous for its green and noise-free banani environment. Numerous water bodies flow through this national park. Tourists can also travel by boat in these reservoirs. Apart from this, the best attraction for picnics is the National Park of Bhawal.     

Apart from that, there are several high watch towers to see the beauty of the entire forest at once, where you can stand and gaze at thousands of tree leaves in the kingdom of greenery. 

Bhawal National Park Entrance Fee:

Bhawal National Park entry fee is Tk 10 per person. If you enter with a car, you have to pay a fixed rate. Double-decker bus Tk 400, bus Tk 200, microbus Tk 100, private car Tk 60, auto-rickshaw Tk 20.

Bhawal Rajbari is near Bhawal National Park. The ancient Rajbari is located in Gazipur Sadar. You can visit there if you have time. Zamindar Lok Narayan Roy started the construction of the house but Raja Kali Narayan Roy finished it. The main building is spread over an area of about fifteen acres. The main entrance is on the south side of the building. After the main entrance there is a spacious verandah followed by a hall room. 

There was a wide staircase made of shal wood to go up to the upper floor of the building. At the northern end of the building there is an open space called Natmandap. All the events of the Rajbari were held on this stage. The two-storied building in the western part of the palace is called Raj Vilas. Under this building, the king's resting place was called Hawamahal. The open room with open arch on the south side is called Padmanavi. A room between the two floors of the building was known as Ranimahal. There are about 360 rooms in this beautiful building.
