Dullahazra Safari Park – Cox's Bazar

Dulhazra Safari Park (Dulhazra Safari Park) is located 48 km north of Cox's Bazar district headquarters and 10 km south of Chakaria police station, in Dulahazara block of Fasiakhali range of South Forest Division of Cox's Bazar district headquarters. This park was originally established as a deer breeding center in 1999 by the Bangladesh Ministry of Forest and Environment. This safari park is spread over an area of ​​600 hectares. Dulhazra Safari Park (Dulhazra Safari Park), also known as Dulhazra Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Safari Park.

The Safari Park has been developed in a collection of beautiful plants and dense cover of the natural beauty of secluded high and low hills, flowing streams, lakes, diverse roaring, tall traditional natural trees, evergreen forest, known and unknown trees and shrubs, fruits and herbs, vines. Its shadowy paths, green forests, rows of unknown trees, chirping of birds and monkeys all combine to create an extraordinary feeling. 

Standing at the tall watch tower along the way, you can see the immense beauty of the entire park. The park is surrounded by fences to prevent wild animals from getting out of the park. There are also inner enclosures inside the park. Inside the inner enclosure, tigers, lions and herbivores live in a natural environment. Not only that, you can see various animal sculptures in the whole park which will fascinate you. 

There is a display map on the left side of the main gate to give an idea of ​​the various attractions of the Safari Park at a glance. There are observation towers, watch posts for tourists to easily observe tigers, lions and other animals inside the park. 

The park has its own transport system, you can visit the whole park by minibus if you want. But it is best to explore the entire park on foot. After entering the park, there are two roads on the left and right. If you start walking on the left side road, you can easily go around the whole park and exit on the right side road. 

The most interesting thing here is the observation tower. Dullahazara Safari Park is primarily established as a deer breeding center, but it also has tigers, lions, elephants, bears, jackals, crocodiles, hippos, Maya deer, sambar deer, chitra deer, para deer etc. There are freshwater crocodiles as well as saltwater crocodiles in this park.It won't be too late for anyone to understand that this is an animal sanctuary. There are some houses made like cages inside, where the wild animals rest. And behind this cage is the gate, through which they wander into the vast wilderness behind. 

The total number of wild animals protected in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park is 362. Among them there are 149 mammals, 152 reptiles and 61 bird species. Mammals include tiger, lion, elephant, mayan deer, para deer, wild boar, rabbit, hanuman, bamboo bear, wildebeest or goyal, baghdasa, wild cat, marble cat, leopard, bonroo, porcupine, bat, shy monkey, Asami monkey, Owls, black bears, sambars, jackals, tigers, hippopotamuses and other exotic animals and birds are there.

As you go around, you will see a very big orchid house. Different types of orchids are arranged there. Besides, another attraction here is Natural History Museum with information center for tourists. There are also artificial statues of various animals here. It is the best place for travelers to get up close and personal with wild animals amidst the natural surroundings.

You have to stay in one of the hotels in Cox's Bazar. There is no need to elaborate about Cox's Bazar Hotel. The whole city is like a city of hotels. You can stay in any one of your convenience.

How to go:

From Dhaka you have to go to Cox's Bazar by Hanif, Shyamoli, Modern Transport. You can also go from Chittagong if you want. From Cox's Bazar city, you can go to Safari Park by CNG-powered autorickshaw or microbus or public bus.
